PROCEDURE

In order to reach electrical compliance a certain procedure has to take place. Click here for a structure of the procedure. After this process is completed a detailed report is supplied.

The following are compressed sample pages of the final report which completes the road to electrical compliance.

Location: Central Warehouse
Zone: Safe Area
Risk Factor: Medium
Frequency: Local
Comments and Remedial Action :The use of black conductors as phase conductors are not allowed. The conductors need to be changed to ensure compliance. Although the code of practice states that identification of conductors are not critical if the purpose of the conductor is clear, black may still not be used as a phase conductor.
Location: Central Warehouse
Zone: Safe Area
Risk Factor: High
Frequency: Generic
Comments and Remedial Action: A distribution board and the equipment mounted in or on it shall be so positioned and arranged that any conductor can be disconnected from any terminal. In this D/B it is not possible due to the location of the earth bar and the D/B is too small for this installation.

Zone: Safe Area
Risk Factor: High
Frequency: Generic
Comments and Remedial Action: The earthing technique used in this picture is non-compliant and should be repaired as soon a possible. All terminations should offer good contact, be sound and mechanically strong. Earth continuity conductors should be terminated on an earth terminal and where cable armouring requires bonding to earth, a cable gland tag should be used or a conductive gland plate.
